Busy Weekend

Meeting the BF (Friday)

So Friday we went to Grand Rapids to meet Staci and Garry and do some shopping. After we drove ALL the way down to 28th Street to get to the Applebees (gross) Staci wanted to eat at (cuz it was easier for her lol..) we had lunch with the fam, and met Garry. It was fun catching up with my sis even though i saw her the past 2 weeks, its nice to see her as much as i can as sometimes i don't see her for lunch. We had lunch, talked about Staci stories (those are NEVER boring) and some things that she just never learned growing up (Um Daylight savings time? really staci? lol). It was a good time. We also met her boyfriend Garry who is from Atlanta but grew up in North Carolina. He was definately raised with southern manners (yes sir/mam) I think that made my parents feel old but it was definately polite. He passed the sister test which is good, cuz i always gotta watch out for my family....

Pricing For Nana's Yard Sale
Saturday was a busy/tiring day. We got up and headed down to Nanas by 9am (well mom did but i didn't get there til 10:30 lol). We had to sort out items and price everything for the yardsale they are having soon. Boy was it a long day. i guess sorting and pricing items from 50 years! would surely take a long time. It was a really fun day though. Uncle Dick was there and of course he ALWAYS causes trouble. It was even worse because a long time friend of Uncle Dick and Boppy was up from Tennessee Bob McNich. He got stranded in Michigan as he hauls horse trailers/campers back and forth from the south and north but had a problem with his Truck. My 2nd cousin Beth was there with her 2 sons, and Aunt Chris, Mom, Nana, Melissa, and me. We had a lot of fun, joking around, telling stories, and listening to Uncle Dick's and Bob's great jokes. We also had a great lunch as Mwah provided some pretty tasty cheesy potatoes. They were a big hit, everyone ate them and they went over well. Overall it was a great weekend.

MOVING

So i've now been back in the Eas Lansing Area for about a month now. Been getting back in the swing of things and living with 2 amazing roomates. My roomates are also from the college group and are amazng godly woman. I'm so glad God gave me this opportunity to grow from the both of them. I've also started classes at MSU so now i'm an official Spartan. I still go to LCC for general credits in the afternoon. So far school isn't too bad. My AMB (agribusiness management class) is my favorite, then comes my piano filler class. My math isn't too hard..just that the teacher is boring. I hate my EEP class. We have to read like A TON!!! its craziness.I just can't wait to graduate lol...

Summer 2008

Hey Everyone! I haven't blogged in what seems like forever! Sorry! Summer has been crazy. Summer flew by so fast after I moved home this summer. This summer was crazy busy! I went to Costa Rica (AMAZING!), had my colorado friends come and visit, the fair, and my discipler Emery got married! Summer was great this year.

Costa Rica

For those of you who don't know, I went to Costa Rica for a week this summer with the college group called Cutting Edge ministries. It was the most amazing time I've ever had. God blessed me with a safe and life changing trip where I met some amazing people who are so on fire for the Lord. God opened my eyes up to a lot of things on the trip. He put things into perspective for. Its so awesome how God works in us. We stayed at the PortanTorchas bible school while we were there. The first we did construction within the school of varnishing, painting, sanding, construction on a bathroom for more people, and building a retaining wall. We also had a free day where we went to a see an active volcano, BEAUTIFUL waterfalls of costa rica, and we went to watch a live soccer game in the town of San Jose..That was a cool experience. Everyday we had a morning devotion with the principle and manager of the bible school. They both had neat stories. We also would meet at night just our group and were reading this devotional book by Max Lucado. Costa Rice was so awesome.

Colorado

About a week and a half after I got back from Costa Rica the group from Colorado came to Michigan. Last year we went to Craig, Colorado as part of our 4H exchange trip they came here this summer. It was a great time catching up, seeing face to face again, and showing them around Michigan. They were so fascinated with our Meijer store because they have never heard of them. I will never forget how fascinated Cherie was with the "light bugs" (lightning bugs). While they were here we did an overnight bus trip up to Mackinaw Island. It was so fun. They loved the bridge and the island. We made a lot of memories. The free day to the beach with Cherie, Jen, My mom, and myself is unforgettable. Go CMWCC! lol...It was sad to see them go. I loved colorado and my friends there!

FAIR

There's not much that really happend during the fair. Pretty much the same thing except that I didn't show this year and was a 4H Dairy club leader. Crazy thought. Me being a leader? lol it's actually a lot of fun because you get to help out all the youngsters with their calves and they are SO cute.

THE DINGEE WEDDING

Lastly this summer I had a wedding for and amazing Godly couple. Emery who was like a big sis and her fiance Matt. I got to get to know and learn from Emery since February. We would meet weekly til about mid-summer when both of our schedules got so crazy. She taught me many things about my faith. She The are currently in connecticut where Matt got a job after graduation from Pepperidge Farms. The wedding was a blast and i'll miss you both!

3 weeks of craziness!

Wow...It feels like forever since i've posted anything on here. Life has been crazy! I was trying to look for an apartment, found an awesome one with a great deal, and then my roommate backed out on me...So now i'm homeless and roommate less for the fall but I know God has a plan and will work everything out so i some how feel at piece with everything. Life is going to get crazy busy in the next few weeks. I have an econ test and book report due next wednesdays and then finals are the following week! and then i am moving home the end of finals week!!!! crazy crazy crazy!!! I think the only final i have to study really hard for is econ...Religion shouldnt be too bad, and statistics is just basically reading past notes and practicing problems. So it was so nice to be home this past weekend. Got to see my parents (even though i see them all the time) and got to see my sister which seems like a rare occasion. We had so much fun. We went fishing with our dad on saturday and had a blast. Between her whining and not catching anything for a while, i thought we would never get off that lake. Thank goodness she finally caught a fish cuz we would probably have been there all night it seems like. I hope i can blog some more in the next 3 weeks! but don't count on it cuz who knows what i'll be doing.

Good Times with Old Friends

Today was like any old day. Go work at greenstone, file, check my email, files some more....and then i went home. Tonight though I was heading back to East Lansing with a good friend of mine whom i grew up with. Tonight Cariann and I went to bottom line, a event every other thursday my church holds as like a BIG group bible study of the whole college group. Anyways, tonight seemed like an amazing night for cariann to come, and just felt like what Pastor Don was talking about was very true to how you should live life today. Tonights topic was on humilty, and putting others before yourself. We can receive Gods grace by being humble to others, and less selfish and putting ourselves first. Pastor Don also talked about how, when times get rough, whether in a relationship with friends, relationships, or etc, you shouldn't "break up". Times are hard to show how you can depend on other people and get through things. I'm so glad Cariann was able to go with me, it was good catching up on the past, and glad she was able to talk to me about things going on, and trying to help her get through her situation. I'm totally stoked shes going to sublease my apartment from me, and we'll get to hang out more this summer. Awesome how God answers your prayers were your stressed about things in life. Well, I should be going...Gotta go to work at Greenstone tomorrow!

Craziness this week

It's been crazy busy since sunday. Sunday was a good day. Went to church in the morning, and then college hour right after that. Godwin spoke about fasting, which i thought was a good topic. You should fast for more meaningful things verses wants and needs. Fasting is hard, but a spiritual growth that will grow you closer to God. I then went shopping in the afternoon, had no luck finding the spring jacket I wanted, and then we had equippers. That was fun. Kristina and i should not sit next to one another for focus reasons lol. Monday I had class all day, which was really boring, of course, class is not fun. Then tuesday I worked all day in Ionia. That wasn't too bad because I found out that I am going to meet with the head herdsman at MSU on monday about a possible job this summer and the fall. Today sucks, i woke up with a killer sore throat, and I have yet another doctors appointment tomorrow morning. So basically i've been sick since easter weekend which sucks to think about. Anyways, we'll see how the rest of the week plays out and preparing for finals which are less than a month away.. Yikes!

Thought for today:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

Better Late than never

Wow, I can't believe I haven't blogged in almost a week...Being sick is not fun stuff...So my week went by pretty slowly, while feeling like crap as I got a really bad cold this week. Monday-Thursday I did pretty much nothing. I went to the doctors appointment Tuesday and waited for a hour and a half. Note to self, find better doctors office. Friday I went back to work for the first time in like 3 days. Pretty busy most the day. My boss was there from Grand Rapids, got free lunch, woot woot, and then went to a scrapbooking party after work. Was really fun doing crafty projects i love, and so i'm going to host a party in may as well! lol. Today i had my first costa rica missions trip meeting this morning with the small group going. So awesome to meet everyone, talk about things we might do, and just get inspired from God about the trip. I'm so excited to go. I've never done a missions before and am hoping for an awesome turn out. i hope i can spread gods word in a different country. What an amazing feeling that could be. Today i'm going to celebrate a friend of mines 21 birthday at dinner with friends, and then to the Gathering at our church of 2 hours of songs and worship. pretty much it for today. Gotta hit the books and study for a stats test on monday. Hopefully i'll get better at posting everyday.
